 MY SHAME
As a young boy I swapped my football and bag of sweets for a second hand air-rife. Eager to try out my new possession, I went into our back garden to find a suitable target. I am ashamed to say that I crept up on a mouse and shot it in the back of the neck.
The slug didn't kill it so I dropped it into a nearby bucket of water. The mouse began to spin like a top and then slowly sank to the bottom, motionless.
To my astonishment, although the mouse remained on the bottom of the bucket, I saw its identical form slowly rising to the surface and up into the sunlight where it disappeared. I had not imagined this. What did I see?
